HE IS HERE!

Ok..so it took me almost 3 weeks to get somethign on this blog posted. Too long you say...have a baby and see how much time you actually have to sit on the computer...or let alone do anything else. Honestly if it were not for one step email checking on my cell phone...I would not be checking that either. At least while I am riding (not driving) I can read them!
So here is the scoop.
Ricardo Jacobo Ovalle (aka, Dito, Baby Head, RJ, Little Ricki...) was born at 7:33am October 17, 2008. He wieghed 7.0 lbs and was 19.75lbs. I went into the hospital abou 1230am after what I thought was my water breaking. (of course also after I took a shower and started the dishes in the dishwasher..:))The nurse waited to officially admit me til I was more than 2 cm dialated. (and they said that my water had not actually broken.) The contractions started and yes they hurt. I had never felt them til this point..and man..I hated it. I wanted to just give up (even though I was WAY pat the point of no return...jaajaja) After I was about 3 cm they admited me and gave me some preliminary pain meds to curb the painful contractions. This was about 3am. When I hit 4cm (about 330am) they gave me the epideral I had requested. THOSE do not take long at all to kick in! After that I felt nothing..except my ACTUAL water breaking. The nurse confirmed it and called hte doctor to have her come in. The epideral worked so well that I was actually able to fall asleep for about an hour (as well as Doug, Jessica, Daisy, my mom and Ricardo all who were present at the time) for about an hour or so. Then the Dr came in and checked again 9cm. Wow that went by fast!! :) So we kicked everyone out and began he pushing process...after several tries and almost popping out every blood vessel in my head, a fever on my part and an elevated heart rate on the babys part (180...regular is 120-140), and using a vaccuum to straigten him out they decide at 630am to do an emergency C-Section. I was quite scared at the idea of that but knew that all was in God's hands and only He knew what was and was going to happen! So off I went to getr our little baby out! The surgery began at 704am and he was out at 733am. :) Ricardo was by my side the entire time taking pics and texting Jessica who was out in a waiting room with everyone so she could stay in contact with those who wished to have all the up to the moment news thru out the night. :) So all in all a grat pregnancy with no complications or problems. Canckles really only began to set in the last week. And only had to endure 2 hours of so of pain before the medicine took over. Pn the other hand the post surgery is a dusey! I am not in constant pain or anything but it will certainly kick me in the stomache anytime I spend too much time on my feet or do something I am not supposed to do. :( 6 weeks of basically not being able to do anythng...not even drive! :( I guess I can live with that being I had such a great 9 months and now a VERY HUNGRY little boy! (He eats almost every 2 hours!!!!)

I can say that I have learned a few things since he has come in to the world. SOme include:
1) Milk smells gross if left on your skin too long
2) Being able to clean the whole house in 20 mins or less
3) How to hold a baby who is nursing in one hand and use the other to get stuff done AND
4) To love in a way that only God can do.
It is amazing that you can love something that has done nothing to deserve it, or has asked for it. He just is my son and I love him for that. It is a little crazy to think about sometimes...that he is even here and real and that I can say that I have a son. But then at 3am he reminds me taht he IS real and he IS here!!! :) ANd I thank God all the time for putting him here with us. :)

Time home has been interesting. THe first week that we were home Ricardo took off and Jessica was here most every waking minute. It was nice to have her here to help with the cleaning and cooking as I could do none of it. Also was good to have RIcardo not needing to get up for work as the first few nights were hard for us to get thru. A few weeks have gone by and taking care of a baby is no picnic but I think that RIcardo is finally sleeping thru the babys cries...ja jaja. :) He is most helpful though when he does get home from work. He holds him and feeds him and sometimes changes his diapers...gives me a few more mins between feedings to do things. Even this blog I started at like 7am is only possible cause I am learning to do things one handed while the baby is feeding. Hence why it took so long!!! :) Well I need to take these last few moments to get a bottle ready for church and a chower afterwards...as mentioned above...MILK smells so gross if left to dry on teh skin and not washed...aka showered! :) (I currently have no pics as the laptop died and I cannot get them off. Want to see some check out Ricardo's or Jessica's myspace or facebook!
